Weekly: A trunk of Earl Grey

Here's this week's weekly drawing; like I said earlier I was looking to do some redraws. I settled on redrawing this image since it's an image that was originally drawn in 2009, I used to like it a lot, but over time I started to notice the flaws more and more. I did a poll in 2014 of which images would be fun to redraw and this image got voted second, after Wanda's Mayhem, which I've already redrawn: 

So going forward with the redraws, I really wanted to try and update the image properly, while staying fairly faithful to it. Obviously I made a few changes, but I think I did a proper job in keeping it close to the original in spirit. I moved one of her hands from her ears to her trunk, to make the pose a bit less 'twinned' and I made the pose in general a bit more naturalistic. I'm very happy how it turned out, especially since in the past whenever I've drawn elephants I've never been all that satisfied with it, which is also why there are so few elephant TF's in my gallery. Most of my discarded sketches used to be elephants from what I can remember. 

Going for a bit of a nostalgic input; I remember that when I originally was drawing  the image, in 2009, I didn't have my own computer or laptop yet, so at the time I didn't have much for references. The reason I drew so many Disney characters was that we used to have a lot of Disney comics at my parents' house, so I could use those for reference together with an old animal encyclopedia. Nowadays drawing sure is a lot easier with the whole of the internet at my fingertips
